ACTS 10:38
…how God anointed Jesus Who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.
God’s Word is Medicine – Proverbs 4:20-22 – “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear to My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life to those that find them and health to all their flesh.”
A strong spirit will sustain infirmity. Proverbs 18:14. “The spirit of a man will sustain him in his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”
In His original creation – there was no sickness. Death and sickness did not appear until AFTER the fall. Genesis 1-3.
No Death or sickness in Heaven or the world to come. Revelation 21:4. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death….there shall be no more pain…” The origin of sickness. Romans 5:11-12. “…wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men…”
Sickness is of the devil. John 10:10. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have LIFE and have it abundantly.”
The Old Testament Covenant of Healing. Exodus 23:25. “And you shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
The New Testament Covenant of Healing. Galatians 3:13, 14. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us… that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus…” Deuteronomy 28:61. “Also every sickness and every plague which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed.” If it’s listed in the curses – we know we are redeemed from it.
The Eternal Names of God. Jehovah Rapha means, “I am the God that health thee”. Exodus 15:26.
The TYPES of Redemption which are for our examples.
The Passover Lamb. The Jews ate of it the night before they left Israel – when they left the next morning – there was not one sick or weak or lame among them. The mass was healed after partaking of the Passover Lamb. Psalms 105:37. “He also brought them out with silver and gold and there was not one feeble among His tribales.”
The Serpent on the Pole. Numbers 21. When the Israelites were being bitten by snakes they were commanded to stare at the brazen serpent on a pole – a picture of the crucifixion according to John 3. When they looked at redemption – they were physically healed.
Healing is part of our redemption; connection between 1 Peter 2:24 and Isaiah 53:4,5. 1 Peter 2:24 tells us, “…Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by Whose stripes you were healed.” This New Testament Scripture is quoted from an Old Testament passage describing the crucifixion of Jesus. Isaiah 53:4,5. “Surely He has borne our griefs,(sicknesses), and carried our sorrows, (pains)…and by His striped we are healed.
Christians are literally spiritually and physically a part of Jesus Christ. There is no sickness in the glorified Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:15. “Do you not know that your BODIES are members of Christ. Ephesians 5:30. “For we are members of His Body – of His flesh and of His bones.
The Fatherhood of God. Matthew 7:11. “If you then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him. John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish – but have everlasting life.
Jesus is the good shepherd. Ezekiel 34:4. God rebukes the evil shepherds. If this description is true of the evil then the opposite is true of the good shepherd. “Woe to you shepherds… the weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick…”
The good shepherd heals the sick. John 10:11. Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd.”
Healing is the Children’s Bread. In Matthew 15 a woman from Canaan came seeking healing for her daughter. She came seeking healing from Jesus. Matthew 15:25-27. “Then she came and worshipped Him and said, “Lord help me!” But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” “And she said, “Yes Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from the master’s table.” Her faith was great and aggressive – her daughter was healed. Healing is the children’s bread.
The Mercy of God. Blind people, crippled people, deaf people cried out to Jesus for mercy. Jesus then healed them. Matthew 15:22, Mark 10:48, Luke 16:24.
The Compassion of God. Matthew 9:36. “Jesus was moved with compassion and healed their sick.”
Authority over Demons and Disease. Luke 10:19. “Behold, I give you authority to trample over serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Sickness and disease is the unseen power of the devil moving in your body. The Ministry of Jesus. Several times scripture states that Jesus healed ALL who came to Him. Nobody was left out – so nobody is to be left out today. 28 recorded healings/miracles in the gospels. The Bible goes onto say that if it were written in books all the things that Jesus did I suppose the world could not hold it. Jesus is a healer.
The Laying On of Hands. Mark 16:18. “In my Name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; THEY SHALL LAY HANDS ON THE SICK AND THEY SHALL RECOVER.
Healing in the Book of Acts. Healings continue to happen throughout the book of Acts. This is AFTER THE DEATH BURIAL, RESURRECTION AND ASCENSION OF JESUS. Healings and or miracles happen in Acts 3,5,9,14,19,20,28.
The List of Gifts of Healings in the Epistles. 1 Corinthians 12:9 list the gifts of the Spirit that pertain to healing and miracles. “…to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another working of miracles…” This passage goes onto state the gift of “word of knowledge” that is used in ministering healing often.
Scriptural Prayers in New Testament Regarding Healing. James 5:16 states, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed…”. 1 Thessalonians 5:23. “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Scriptures and Promises of God Regarding Physical Healing Throughout the Entire Bible. See attachment.
God has Promised Us Long Life. Psalm 91:16. “With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
He is the Vine. We are the Branches. John 15:5. Jesus said, “I am the Vine – You are the Branches…”
Our Bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 16:19-20. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? That’s right. “For ye are bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s.”
Our Bodies are Living Sacrifices. Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that you present your body a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which
is your reasonable service. The sacrifices offered at the temple in the Old Testament were to be without blemish. By faith – our bodies are without blemish – sickness or weakness.
We are the Bride of Christ. According to Ephesians 5 – the same relationship rules that apply to a husband and a wife apply to the church – which is Jesus body – which is the fullness of Him. According to Ephesians 5 – the church is referred to as His own body – like a wife’s body belongs to her husband. Our Lord cherishes our bodies and washes them with His word. We are literal bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh – there is no sickness in the body of our Lord Jesus.
